"Getting fat" during the pregnancy?

Question:
Okay, so here I am: 6 weeks pregnant and a whole bunch of changes in/with my body ahead. I am really worried about transforming into some kind of a pregnant monster (no offence) such as Britney Spears for an example.
This is the 1st pregnancy to me, so I basically don't know what to expect what is going to happen with be it my appetite. Does the appetite increases DRASTICLLY at some point of the pregnancy, that's why many pregnant women are not able to control how much they eat? I want to have a healthy baby, I do eat regurally and I am not scared of the let's call it "pregnancy weight" (includes the baby's and everything else weight). I am scared of going beyond that and turning into a huge monster. Can anybody tell me about their experience with their pregnancies and their way of dealing with the weight and too big appetite (by too big I mean TOO BIG, that would be too much for the monther and the baby)? I weight about 110 now, btw. Thank you all for your help!

Answers:
I weighed 115 when I got pregnant and when I gave birth 9 months ago I weighed 160.. I now weigh 110 and do not excercise regularly.

See, it is not about how much you eat but WHAT you eat. If you crave sugar eat fruit, curb your appetite towards healthier foods rather than cheetos like Brittney.

Don't worry about how much you gain when you are pregnant, because your body retains EVERYTHING you eat. Go for walks and eat healthy and just be pregnant.

When you have your baby you will lose all the weight your body kept, and if you ate healthy your normal figure will come back. If you stocked up on junk food you will probably not recover unless you really put in the effort... But hey, if your eating junk food while your pregnant then you probably don't care anyway... i.e. Britney
well, they tell you to gain between 25-35 pounds. i gained about 35. they also say that you will lose about 20-25 pounds when you have the child and then the rest breast feeding, WRONG! i lost about 15 when I had him, gained 5 pounds, and never lost another ounce. I have been dieting and exercising and nothing helps. it was always easy for me to lose weight in the past so i thought nothing about it while i was pregnant. this time around i am limiting myself. about my 5th month, i had no "shut -off valve" when i ate. i could eat as much as i wanted and never felt full. i will not make that mistake this time.
