***to all mothers***?

Question:
Is it bad to have sex when you are almost due?.....i have a hard time to go to sleep, wich way can i go to sleep? left, right, or on my back?

Answers:
As long as you aren't having premature contractions, bleeding, or leaking amniotic fluid, it is usually *fine* to have sex. If you have any question, talk to your midwife or doctor.

Other Answers:
The right side was always good for me, and I didnt have sex around that time i never really felt like it
they say its OK,,, but personally i felt like a beached whale and i wasn't wanting to have sex at all in the end of my pregnancy. sleep on your side with a pillow between your legs... its the only way i could sleep in the end. try it see how it works!
Actually if you are almost due, then it is good to have sex because that will help you go into labor.. It is never unsafe to have sex during pregnancy, unless, medically there is something wrong... As far as which way you should sleep, I use to sleep, left, right or back side, whatever made me comfortable at night...
in some cases it could make you go in labor, and i know all about no sleep,,i slept on 2 pillows on my right side ,but whatever is comfortable to you
It's not bad. It all depends on how you feel. Sleep on whichever side works best for you. I personally had to sleep half-way sitting up surrounded by pillows.
I did until I was very close, but just didn't feel like it. On either side to sleep. If you try your back, you can't breathe.
My best friend had sex until the day she was induced, me on the other hand, i stopped having sex with my husband when i was about 6 and a hafe months. we both decided it was a little to weird especially when i could feel him moving around! and to sleep I put a pillow between my legs and under my tummy and ad one right behind my back. if it wasn't perfect i couldn't sleep. by the time you are really far along, it will be difficult to find a good sleeping position.
As long as your Dr. hasn't told you to not have sex it should be safe.

They say the blood flows better through the Iliac arteries (in the pelvic region) if you sleep on your left side, however that was neververy comfy for me so I slept on my right side and my son came out just fine!
It is always safe to have sex during your pregnancy. As for sleeping, I have read that it is best to sleep on your left side. This can help develop the babys organs and keeps blood flow better. You should get the "What to expect when you are expecting" book. It was a life saver for me during my first pregnancy.
I haven't gotten that far along yet but I have heard it can bring on labor to have sex late in pregnancy.

I am 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
When i was pregnant during the final months sleep was not something i looked forward to and i was always told not to sleep on your back after like 5 months (i know its hard) because of some vein that runs along your back to your baby (your baby cuts it off with the pressure against it when your lying on your back) but i found it more comfortable if i layed on my right side with a body pillow between my legs (body pillows are great). I don't think sex is bad during the final months thats finally when my sex drive kicked in because i was so sick at first sex was the last thing on my mind (first on my boyfriends of course!)

Do what makes you comfortable thats what its all about!

Been there done that!!
No its not i use to more toward my due date because it can start your labor if you do it right, nothing wrong with it unless your dr advices you not to. And about the sleep you need a body pillow if your man don't let you use him as one sleep on your side with your pillow between legs always works for me..
As long as you are not having any complications like pre-term labor or pre-clampsia it is okay to have sex up until you have the baby. Don't worry about that. Have fun!

It is better not to sleep on your back after 20 weeks. Try sleeping on either side with a pillow in between your legs and a pillow under your belly. This will help elevate your stomach and reduces stress on your hips. Hope you can get some sleep.
If your doctor says its okay, then do it.
My wife was told that it would help with delivery.
As for sleeping...do whatever is most comfortable for you.
Again, my wife never really found a 100% comfortable position to sleep...however, she did find it easier to prop up a pillow and sort of sit up to get some rest.
you can have sex up until the day you give birth , the prostoglandins in the semen is supposed to help thin the cervix, and i always slept on my side either one. i use to prop myself up to because i had killer heart burn. but you'll be uncomfortable on your back hard to breath
left side is better with a body pillow, the U shaped ones for pregnancy are really good. and you can have sex up to the day you deliver. the sperm can actually stimulate contractions in your uterus, as well as orgasms..
Well about the sleeping thing the right side always worked better for me. And about the sex well i had sex the night before i was suppose to have my baby girl and i had an orgasm and that made me go into labor so just do what ever you are most comfortable with

GOOD LUCK!!!
Unless you are told not to have sex by the doctor, then it should be fine. I had a hard time sleeping when I got to about 7-8 mos. and I ended up sleeping in the recliner and having it only a little bit reclined back because that was the only way I could breathe and get a decent night's sleep! I tried sleeping on one side or another and with pillows between my legs and it didn't work for me. You just have to try different things and stick with what works.
