She might become a little more independent. Have no expectations all children are different. She is an individual and only time will tell. Encourage good behavior and deal with issues as they come. Don't get ahead of yourself and just take one step at a time.

my daughter turned 8 yesterday.....she's a brat.wants 2 be in control.she's always right.no convincing her otherwise.she's a smart mouth.everything is ....but mom!!!must have her way.know it all.prissy.to good for herself.prim n proper.loves to sleep.i do make her come into reality everyday and let her know who's boss....boy does she hate that.
Depends on her personality. My daughter has been 7 for almost 3 months. It's been good. Had a problem at school today with another 7 year old who is very possesive of friends but getting through that. She is placid not easily led and get's along with most kids. Yet other 7 year olds OH MY GOD!!!!hope yours is like mine and not one of THEMAll kids are differant so there is no "one" answer.
