what is a good schedule for 6 month old babies?
Answers:
I have a 6mo old and here is a normal day fo us.
Wakes at 6am for a 6oz bottle, right back to bed.
Up for day by 10 am, eats 6oz bottle at 11. Plays and naps for between 30 to 90 min.
3pm eats 1/2 jar veggies(or fruit) and 6oz bottle. plays and taks another short nap.
7pm 6oz bottle. plays, needs lots of attention to carry him through to his next feeding. AT 10 or 10:30 he gets 6oz bottle, 1/2 cup baby oatmeal cereal and 1 jar fruit. Down for night no later than 11pm.
Baby should be eating every 3 to 4 hours. Sometimes longer if they take more oz's in the bottle.
Other Answers:
you have to let them do most of the scheduling at this age. let them sleep when they are tired (they take a lot of naps at this age) and eat when they are hungry. however, at night, keep things very low keyed and they will understand in time that night is for sleeping; not playing. as time goes by though, a general pattern will be benificial for both of you. it will give a little structure your baby can take comfort in. i have learned that trying to live exactly by the clock is quite stressfull. (esspecially when things don't go exactly as scheduled and they always do.) most importantly enjoy your baby and enjoy being a parent! you will both figure out what works best for each of you.
