A friend of mine was drinking heavy!?

I would like an answer to this question.A guy i met in a bar was drinking heavy and we got to talking.I asked him why he drank so much and he told me it was to forget something he done a long time ago.I got him talking about it and he told me when he was 12 years old he had sex with his 7 year old sister.I want to no who's fault you think it was his or his parents?His sister and him were very close and the mother let him and his sister sleep in the same bed at night,and one thing lead to another.The father was a drunk and not at home most of the time>Who/s fault?

Sometimes people are a product of their environment. Meaning you sometimes only know what you see and are taught. We as humans are a curious bunch and when we are young we are really that way. Exploring is a way that some of us learn about ourselves and others. That is probably what happened with the guy you met in the bar. He may not have been exposed to other girls and he saw something different about his sister and it got the best of him and her. I guess it would freak me out too if that happened to me. I suggest that he go and get some type of counseling and hopefully he can get past it so it doesn't interfear with any future relationships

Don't believe everything you hear from drunks in bars. They will make up the most outlandish stories to excuse their drinking. It sounds like BS to me.

Really does it matter whose fault it is? The fact is that happened and at 12 years old children DO have a sense of right and wrong. I slept in the same room with my brother and sisters and we never had sex....
All Im saying is that if this guy is drinking to cover up his pain, then he really needs help and he should be seeking a professional therapist to help him sort this all out.
PS i hope you are not interested in this guy...he will cause you nothing but problems until he gets past this.

i dont think appointing blame is a good idea. what is done is done but your friend does need to go talk with someone they have free mental health clinics that could help him. Hey, first of all..you said it was a friend of yours...next its some drunk you met in a bar....Are you the sister here??? If so are you a redneck??? If you answered yes to all of the above...this is normal behavior...what are you complaining about????

You can say that it is his parents fault but how do you know that all the things he said about his parents are true. Or you could say that is was is fault because he was old enough to know better. Who's knows
