fever!!!!!! if the fever doesn't improve take your daughter to the doctor!!! just watch her for cahnges in the temperature be alert if doesn't go down take to the emergency room
That will be good. Check her in about 30 mins. If no change, give her a cool bath....not cold...cool. take her to the hospital
Of Course it is very bad!
Send her to see Dr asap!
100 can be just from normal metabolisim after eating, or running around. she's faking being ill I think.
some of these other posters are nuts. 100 is nothing!
take your own temp after dinner sometime.
but to be safe maybe you should take her outside and blast her with a garden hose for half an hour.
yeah and pump her up with motrin - 10 or more per hour.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! Its supposed to be 98.6 ((normal)) ♥
Does she have an illness?!?!
It's not bad. You just have to watch how she interacts with you. She should be still playful and talkative. If she starts getting sleepy or way out of sorts, then I would take her to a clinic Sheesh....your kid is sick with a high temp and you come on the computer to ask strangers what you should do???
Take parenting classes immediately...after you get back from taking your kid to the ER!
let her sleep but keep an eye on that temp She will be fine. Now she gets to enjoy a bubble bath tonight to help lower her temp. Keep her in the tub about 45 min.
:-)
when there's fever there's an infection somewhere, i'll give her some motrin and liquids if continues take her to doc. make an appointment anyways just in case that way you wont have to pay for emergency not bad. worry when it hits 102.00 norm most people 98.6 unless she has other worrison systems like bad cough, diarea or vomiting for a long time
babies and children usually get high fevers. i would probably, even though she won't like it, give her a cold bath. even thoguh she probably feels freezing, it's because her body's probably trying to desperately cool her down. that'll help reduce the fever. u already gave her medicine, which is good. have her eat a lil' something like soup if she's old enough.or drink some orange juice. have her get some sleep and don't disturb her, but check up on hetr or comfort her if she's feeling awful. she'll be okay. there's been much worse.
Contrary to popular belief, the "normal" temperature for children is closer to 99 degrees,as opposed to 98.6 for adults.100.2 isn't all that high, keep up the Moltrin regime.100.2 isn't a temp I'd be worried about, personally, and I have 6 kids and am a medical assistant. We always have some illness or other, at any given time.
Recheck her temp in about 45 minutes; if it has gone down a bit (even to just 100.0) then you can feel fairly sure that she's going to be fine. Give her a luke-warm bath, if you feel the temp needs to come down a bit more. Also, remember that every person's body temperature rises a bit at night, while sleeping.
A temperature isn't always a bad thing, anyway. It is your body's natural defenses kicking in to eliminate a virus or bacteria.
No don't panic, she has probably caught the viruses that are hitting the schools, if her fever goes over 102 and will not go down with Tylenol or Motrin, then take her to the ER if your Dr's office is not open. Let her sleep, a fever is the body's way of fighting whatever is going on, sleep is good for her, and push lots of clear fluids to keep her hydrated.

a mom with 20 yrs medical experience If your daughters temp gets to be around 105. then I would start to worry. this current temp could be from overexcitment, or she could possibly be getting a cold
What you did is the right thing, take her temp in about an hour it should go down with motrin, if it does not go down within an hour you can give her tylenol, it will not give her an overdose, if you have questions call you local hosptial and talk to a nurse
god bless
worry above 102 treat with childrens tylenol and follow directions but if it gets worse you need to go to dr.
It is a Great day to be alive!!
Good luck and God Bless!!
