My baby cries and fusses when we get in the car. How do i ease her frustration with traveling?

My first cried every time we got into the car for her entire first year, and only stopped when we turned around the car seat, so that she sat facing forward. Now, a few years later, she gets car sick very easily, so we figure this is what was happening. She always felt sick facing backwards.

We just tried, whenever possible, to time car trips for nap time, and sometimes soothing music helped a bit. When she is old enough for more than nursing, or formula, if I had it to do over, I would have tried to give her some sort of juice or something with ginger or peppermint, which is supposed to help.

Good luck! Wish I had a magic rememdy for you. I know how frustrating it is to have them cry every time you go anywhere and not know what to do about it.
