I have a 10yr old with moderate autism who needs to get his eyes checked....?

My 10 yr. old son needs to get checked for glasses. He has autism, with some speech and develpomental delays that make the traditional "Which one was clearer...1 or 2" unworkable. Do I need to contact an optomitrist or should I go for a pediatric ophthomologist??

Answers:
I wold contact the local opthamologist and tell them your concerns and see if they have experience with children with autism. if not, they should be able to tell you where to go.
Most Dr offices have machined that you put your face up to and it reads what your eye prescription is. I had it one on me it was pretty cool.
But yes I would go to a kid eye Dr and let them know a head of time that you son had autism.
Good luck to you
there r optometrist that specialize in this area that do have the patience to work with special kids usually you would start with a kids optometrist and explain to them they can usually help you find the right doctor
