!Deadbeat Dads! DO THEY EVER HAVE TO PAY UP?

If a guy doesnt have a legitimate job to pay his court ordered child support, how does the child ever receive any support?? I live in CA, so only applicable laws need be quoted..I've heard different outcomes, from losing their Drivers License to Jail time to years of back pay to be due when a legit job is held, so whats the real deal??

my sons father owes me 13,000 in back child support not including current child support.

i know in the state of texas the minium amout to be paid even with out a job 155.00 and once they get a job they will add so much more to cover the back child support. my ex whent to jail for 6 months after 3 years of not paying a penny. at christmas time he was released and told by the judge to get a job and start paying child support. his drivers license was suspended they also take his tax return every year and will until the 13,000 is paid.

you have to stay on it don't give up he needs to pay The deal is the system is lazy and only wants to go after the ones with pay checks they can garnish. They can issue a seek work order but they never follow through because most deadbeats move around and use post office boxes and work for cash. I get a check once in awhile for my adult 30 yr old son. The order was for 40.00 pr week ! Theres a Ripley's Believe it or Not !!

I'm not sure about CA child support laws. I know Oregon has very tough laws. But if I were you, contact the CA Support Enforcement Division and find out the exact laws.

My dad has been to jail...quite a few times. As of today, he owes more than $100,000.00 to my 2 sisters and me. They take $24 out of his paycheck once a month if we're lucky. The gvmt doesnt really do their job when it comes to this situation, I think. I dont even classify the jerk my dad. He wanted my mom to get an abortion w/ me, and then he abandoned all of us when I was only like 2 months old. So, needless to say, I dont have a father! I do, the guy my mom married, he's the best dad someone could ask for. I consider him my real dad. I'm glad Ive got someone like him.
