Yes it is very common for women to be extremely exausted after giving birth. Sleep as much as you need and rest up for your baby to have a healthy and well rested momma. If by "hibernate" you mean that you just don't feel like leaving the house, then yes... that is normal. But it is also a sign of postpartum depression and you should talk to your doctor about your options... medication, counseling, the Tom Cruise "vitamins and exercise" method, whatever! It's not good for you or the baby to stay cooped up all day.
I think every new mom sort of stays at home for the first little while
