My almost 4 just went on adhd an bi-polar meds. I am so scared...He's ten times wilder than he was before!

Question: Hes on 10mg of metadate in the a.m. and risperdal in the p.m. His Dr. says to give him the bipolar med with the add med this morning. I hope it works! My heart breaks for him. He's only three! His dad is bi-polar and adhd as are all 3 of his sons. I have never dealt with mental illness in a child before. I ask for your prayers if you pray and your advise if you have some! love, cindy

hi i know what u going through my son has adhd he is concerta 36mg risperdal5mg depakoter250mg clonodine1mg the doctors doesn't have his dosage right if he is wilder it takes a while to find out what will work and whats not but it will get better my son is a completely different child on his meds i have alot of information i can give u and advice just email me and i'll try to tell u everything i know the good and the bad but what ever u do consult your doctor about all side effects and i have heard ritilan is verry dangerous so try to stay away from that ok just email me because theres not enough space for me to really tell u everything i know on here and also u are verry lucky to get a diagnoses while he is still young good luck i also want to say to everyone who has talked about that we are drugging are kids without them drugs my 7 year old son wouldn't be able to say simple nursery rythms would be expelled from school and god forbid what else i don't agree to people drugging there kids to make them sleep or something but adhd is a medical condition that if not treated leads to robery skipping school drug use and many others. But there isn't anything wrong with a second oppinon either i got quit a few on my son
Slap it till it behaves.

nb Praying is superstitious, so don't waste your time.
If you can, get a second opinion. Those are dangerous drugs and the boy is quite young. It might take some time for the drugs to properly work, but I would still get a second opinion. You already have my prayers, Cindy.
