(Women only) Have you used cycle beads for birth control and what kind of luck have you had with it?

aka the standard days method of birth control

Answers:
I have not personally used cycle beads before but I did research them. They are the most effective when you have extremely regular cycles. I chose to your the Sympto-Thermal Method of natural family planning which has a similar premise as the cycle beads. However, instead of just relying solely on a calendar STM tracks several different fertility signs: temperature, cervical mucus, cervical position & firmness. Those combine to give a much clearer picture of when you are fertile so that you can either avoid conception or encourage it.

Other Answers:
I haven't used them but I can't see how they would be very effective. Most women don't ovulate on the same Cycle Day every month. You'll have better luck charting your cycles to see exactly when you are ovulating and using protection for the week before and a couple days after you ovulate.
