5 month old son?
Answers:
A friend of mine works in a research lab and they are finding that the more you subject your child to lotions the likelier they are to develop allergies later on. They are finding that this is because some lotions have peanut and other oils in them. So I suggest be careful especially since you have so many other problems with your son.
FYI just because you use a different user name on here doesn't mean that ppqna.com wont know that it is you - I know that you were suspended from ppqna.com before. Also ALOT of your questions seem like you are looking for someone to talk to about your problems, why don't you try signing up for a parenting group in Yahoo's group. I think that might be better suited for your "chatter - like" questions.

You need professional help. A psychologist.
cut the umbilical on the 8 year old already lady, that's pretty excessive.
We put lotion on our daughter once a day. After shower. She's 13 months old now. When she's got diaper rash, we use diaper cream, otherwise we lotion her bum after every second diaper change. That should be enough
Dont worry - I still use Johnsons lotionon all of my kids - the older ones apply it themselves - it is a good product - it is not a bad thing to care for your children - the nighttime chamomile is great for the little ones - helps them sleep - I use it myself

obsessive-compulsive disorder, u may wanna seek help especially with the 8 yr old but on the baby its normal i think
I would check with their pediatrician to make sure you are not blocking the skin's natural way of breathing and getting rid of dead skin cells daily, and generating new ones.
You should stop doing that to your 8-year-old daughter because it ain't right.
You're not alone. I still put baby lotion on my 6 and 4 1/2 year old. Now that I have a 4 1/2 month old, I have a reason to buy it again.
when my son was a year old i didn't apply lotions to him every day nore his sister when she was older
The only thing I am obsessive about is their safety, everyone who knows me thinks I am the most over protective mother they know by far. But use the vaseline on the diaper rash it works better than diaper cream!!!

good to see parents who care and take care of there kids YOU GO !!!!!!!!! I GIVE YOU A MOMMY AWARD !!!!!!!!! nothing wrong just good care ........
I think the 8 year old is capable of doing it herself. As for the baby, it's ok to lather him up once a day. Babies need the loving touch. It's good for their circulation. After a year or 2 though it's not really necessary anymore.
Nothing wrong with that they will just have really soft skin. Do you feel guilty about this? Is your Daughter complaining? If so stop with her and continue with your son. For me it was brushing hair and bathing.
You should teach your daughter to do things on her own, not big tasks but like cleaning after herself, bathing her body, and during homework. One thing i still have to do everyday with my kids is clean them up and there messes because on is 7 and one is 6 it's pretty hard to do those things every single day. At most times i tell the oldest to watch and help her little sister because one day you can't get through this world alone. Somebody will have to help you through it.
I play with them, feed them and let them have some time to themselves to play.
I think applying lotion daily to your 5 month old is fine. I worked in a daycare center, and some kids needed lotion applied every diaper change because their skin was so dry. As for the 8 yr old, she is old enough to apply lotion herself. You may need to help her apply it to her face so she doesn't get it in her eyes, but other than that, it's ok for her to apply it herself. Also, it's been my experience that applying vaseline EVERY diaper change doesn't really effect weather a child has a diaper rash or not. Diaper rash is usually caused either by an alergic reaction to something ( diaper, wipes, lotion, food, ect....), or from keeping a wet or soiled diaper on too long. I apply vaseline to my twin's bottoms before I put on their overnight diapers, or if we have a long car trip ahead of us. Hope this helps!

Yes, my 19 & 15 year old still put lotion on them. I also have a 2 year old and they are teaching him to put lotion on.
I bet its the smell, isn't it. That delicious baby lotion smell on their sweet skin! I don't think you are weird, I don't do my kids anymore but I use it on myself!
