Other Answers:
It's not necessarily bad for him at this age. He probably enjoys the movement and maybe the colors and sounds.
The problem comes when the tv is used as a substitute babysitter. For now, he should be fine.
so ur so is lucky
just let him enjoy looking at the color. that can actually help.
Well,it is good for your sonwhich is only 5 months old to be intersted in tv and diffrent colors it is good
I agree w/ the first person to answer. When he is older and starts to depend on the TV, that is when you worry. He's too young now.
Its, not bad if the tv is in moderation. If he does other things through out the day besides sit in front of the tv you have nothing to worry about it.
Its not bad... it keeps the baby happy, dont it? Its fine, but too much t.v can be bad later on in your sons life.
my son is almost 4 and as long as i can remember the tv facinated him he is just fine and ses. street is a learning show so thats always great
I think it's fine. It helps them learn so it's not like junk TV that older kids watch. My little girl loved Elmo when she was his age and now at age 22 mo and with the my help she knows her ABC's. Don't be worried about it. Our generation isn't like past generations. I think that our parents acted like TV was the anti-christ but now shows like sesame street have evolved and are a good thing for kids.
It's not bad at all. Now, if he was watching the Predator then that could be a problem. When my daughter was 4 months she would watch sesame street then backyardagens and then when Mr. Rodgers came on she would go to sleep.
TV has long been known to change the way children/babies who watch it brains work. They think differently, act differently, etc. A recent study in Switzerland (I heard this on NPR, so I know it's legit.) said that moderate TV viewing by babies 6 months to 7 years has shown to have no effect on the way their brains develop and how their thought process works.
it is not good to let children under the age of 12 to watch more then 30 minutes of tv a day. kids, even as young as your son, when they watch to much tv tend to prefere to watch tv then interact with real people and can cause social problems later in life. if you want your child to watch this show then watch it with him and talk to him about the colors and what is going on.
