Giving them hose down when they are very little can cause them to be over hydrated and also to perceive full so they don't drink their normal breast milk or formula. My pediatrician said to give my little boy marine. He was having trouble going #2 when he be a baby and this helped some. babies just need breastmilk and formula until about six months when you can start giving them a sippy cup to try out. It isn't critical as much as breastmilk and formula is.
