Is it okay to give a baby juice in a bottle???

Will giving them juice in a bottle rot their teeth?

Answers:
A little girl I watched when I was a teenager had to have all her baby teeth pulled by the dentist because her teeth were rotten. There were nasty. I would recomend that you put 50% water and 50% juice; don't give a bottle during nap time; and encourage baby to drink from a cup. They have great sippy cups called nubbies from wal-mart and they are awesome and cheap!

Other Answers:
Water it down and make sure it is 100% juice. It should be fine! Sugary fake crap is what rots their teeth.

If the baby is one year or older it is OK yeah if you mix water with it

go here for some info. it depends on the childs age usually ot until 7-8 months old

Why not give it to her in a sippy so she can practice sippy cup use and have juice too! I started giving my son a little bit (2 oz.) or so of juice mixed with 50% water when he was almost one. I still water it down with about 1/3 water and he's almost three. I just don't want him to get too much sugar. At one point (a year or so ago) he only wanted to drink juice, so I didn't let him have any for a few weeks...only milk and then juice was a treat again and he could have one cup a day then. He has about half juice and half milk now.

Use a "zippy" cup.

If your baby is over 6 months old, than a little juice mixed mostly with water is OK. It is not the juice that rots the teeth, it is letting a baby sleep with a bottle of juice or milk that causes decay in teeth. Especially in warm weather, a little extra fluid helps keep your baby hydrated. Babies younger than 6 months who are still getting all their nutrition from formula or breast milk don't need any water or juice.

Yes it it's ok. But before you do, how old is your baby? You really shouldn't give juice until your baby is eating solid food. And even then you should water it down. There's really no need to give juice. It is really 'empty' calories and not worth it if you're giving it for vitamin c.

Where you need to worry about teeth rotting is if your baby falls asleep sucking on a bottle with juice, or even milk. The juice and milk will collect in the mouth and promote tooth decay.

one year or older, mixed with a little water is fine. just remember to brush the teeth and gums with those little baby gum brushes. if you don't have one of those, i used a clean wet washcloth to clean the teeth and gums. it helps clean their whole little mouth clean and they enjoy it too. it feels good to their gums. Drinking a lot of juice can damage the enamel of the teeth, leading to tooth decay. This is particularly a problem when the juice is offered in a bottle, rather than a cup

please try something else besides juice. If you want a baby with a sweet tooth, continue giving them juice, but their baby teeth are vulnerable. The better food habits you can get them into now the better they will eat when they grow up.

yes just don't put them to bed with a juice bottle

You should only give baby any juice (or *anything* other than human milk--or formula) after age 6 months. Juice is not all that healthy. Water is better for quenching thirst, and fruits are healthier than the juice made from them. But a little bit once in a while won't hurt. Just be sure to never put baby to bed with a bottle unless it has water in it.
