My baby was 12.5 weeks early. The hospital showed us some physical therapy to do at home to help her development. She rolled over 10 days before her due date! Ask your pediatrician about exercises. We were told she may be about 3 mos behind other babies born when she was for things like sitting up, standing, walking, etc. but should be all caught up around 18-24 months.
Also, talk to your doctor about the upcoming winter and cold/flu season. Early arrivals have a harder time warding off viruses.

I was heartbroken as well for what all my little went through. Plus, it was so hard to leave her in the NICU for 2 months after she was born. I can empathize so much!
I was a prematured baby - n my mom says I learnt things pretty faster than her other 2 children.
Only, I had my features a bit underdeveloped - like I dint 've a proper nose - so my grandad pulled it to an extent tht its quite a nose now.
It never depends on being prematured. Girls are faster than boys and even genes matter a lot.
I skipped my 1st class n got straight into 2nd. Have always been youngest in all my classes - still scoring high ranks - and today I m an engineer.
Do u need any more explanations!
My baby was 4 weeks early, can't compare to your 10 weeks however. A friend of mine had a baby 2 weeks before me, just 1 week early. Now at 10 months old, my friends baby just took her first steps, mine just started standing, doesn't even crawl, but I feel that is personality shining through there!!

What sort of problems is your baby having?
I do not have personal experience. But I wanted to help anyway.

this site gives a little information.

and just so you know. I was born two monthe early, and I ended up fine.
I was a 7.5 week preemie back in 1974. When I was pregnant I was told that was practically like being a 28 week-er these days. So when I passed 28 and then 33 weeks when I was recently pregnant (with all kinds of crazy monitoring because of gestational diabetes) I was really happy.

I've read that with a preemie you should go by what your expected due date was for when your baby should hit the different milestones. (Gestational age vs. actual age.)

If you're active in helping him along then most likely your baby will be ahead of them all and you can be happy at how advanced he is!!

Congratulations!
