Flat feet All babies are born with "flat feet" and have a waddling gait when they first start walking. The high inside arch seen on most adults' feet doesn't start to develop until around two years old and children don't take adult-like heel-toe steps until around three years old. However, if your child still seems to have flat feet by the age of three, see a podiatrist who can prescribe gentle inserts to support the arch

Special shoes would help.
yes, if you go to a doctors/hospital they give you these shoes for your kid to put on, it slowly straighten there feet, if not theres always an operation later in life
shoes
yes go see a physio and they will help you. Probably some thing in the shoe will do the trick.
Just like the rest of them just said. A special shoe will fix that problem right on up
you should buy sneakers with the arch in the sole of the sneakers. nike's and adidas are some good shoes to buy. i have 3 children so i would know. my youngest had flat feet and we started buying him sneakers with the arch in them and now at 4 year old he has a nice arch in his feet.
All babies have flat feet. They don't develop arches for some time. By doing something now you could actually do more harm than good. If you are worried talk to your Doctor.

I am a mum of a two year old and aunt to many many more.
My brother and I both had flat feet. We wore orthopedic shoes for years. Back then they only came in ugly or ugly. After that we had plastic inserts specialy made for us (I still remember the foot molds). We didn't start any type of help/therapy until we were in school. My mom never had hers treated and now has foot problems as a result. Fourteen months is a little young to start with a specialist. See if your pediatrician is concerned. The best advice now (and forever) is to buy shoes with excellent arch support or find arch support inserts.
I was born flatfooted, and my mom, just knew I was gonnahave problems with my feet, not that bad yet, thank God. my son has the same problem, and like everybody else said, take him to see a Dr. to get him some shoes would be your best bett, so they will train the muscles in his feet. When he gets older, then maybe it will correct itself, and he wont have as many problems, but do what you can and pray and let the Lord take care of the rest.
