4mth old having trouble having bowel movement..formu... has been changed is that why?

Answers:
Our doctor recommended putting around 1 tablespoon of dark corn syrup (Karo) in with the formula. I think this helps draw moisture into the stool. It worked very well for us.

When my daughter was four months old she had the same problem i say give the baby a little bit of gerber prune juice and mix it with water it will not hurt the baby at all and then if that does not work do the same with apple or pear juice. but the doc told me to take a little bit of vasaline on the end of a cotton swap and slowly enter it into the bottocks and rub it in there then give a warm bath and that should help well it did for mine anyways now days i give her oatmeal and a warm bath

i hope that helps please let me know if it does or not and a little bit of surger water once a day helps too just a little bit of suger though
The formula change could very well be the problem. Have you given any rice or anything different in the diet? My son will get harder stools if he has too many bananas or apples. If he gets uncomfy and i know he hasn't had much of a bowel movement I will give him a few spoons of prune babyfood. You can bet that will help get things moving within no time.
