Which toys will make my one year old child smarter?

Answers:
Nothing will make your child smarter. All you can do is provide a stimulating environment for the child to learn in. But that won't make your child "smarter", he's not going to suddenly be gifted and reading at 2 because of anything you do.

For a one year old ANYTHING can be something to learn from. Banging on pots and pans. Playing some nursery rhymes on CDs. Going outside and picking flowers. Reading books. Going to the grocery store. The world is a brand new place and there is so much that he doesn't know.

BABY ENSTINE PRODUCTS,
BUT CHILDREN ALL LEARN AT DIFFRENT PACES

abacus? I hear that those leapfrog interactive books are quite good for that age. Now you can get ones that are made for babies that sort of age I have seen them advertised on t.v.

all the standard baby toys are about the same just by him something that he can practice his motor skills like blocks.

You!

You can turn any toy into a learning experience. Talk to your child and identify things for him/her to repeat. Use words that aren't commonplace in our every day conversations. Ask questions that make the child think. Point out things that are interesting. Ask detailed specific questions, not just general ones.

Read to your child every day/night and not just one quick book. Don't just read the books though, make it an experience. Point at each word with your finger as you read it, point out pictures and correlations between the pictures and the words. (IE point to the word TREE in the book and then point to the tree in the picture.) Try out different voices for different characters in the book's dialog. Make the intonation of your voice fit the mood of the book, upbeat for happy, low for sad.

Look for toys that make him or her use their imagination and thought process. Building blocks or anything that they can build things with are good for fine dexterity as well as cognitive thinking. Really look at a toy, not just the brand name and ask yourself how they'll play with it, if they'll play with it and if it's high maintainance.

Good luck.

You are your child's best teacher. Babies are like sponges, they soak up knowledge. So you are your baby's best toy. Actually you don't need to force your child to become smarter on this age. He will learn automatically by himself or herself. As he reach age 3 you send him to school. That's one of the good idea i could say. They will learn fast in toodler estimulation.

let your child see pictures which have red, white and black colors. Those colors will make your child smarter.
