is he feeding well? getting ill frequently? u might need to check with your paediatrician
Check with your doctor . . . Babies gain in a funny manner . . . he may not gain much this month and jump in weight next month
talk to the dr if you think something is wrong
I would speak to your doctor and your paediatrician to identify causes of the problems.
Take it up with your pediatrician. They're very helpful with things like that. Don't wait either, get to the doctor before things get to be a concern.
You need to feed him more protein, and give him alot of formula. Keep doing that. If not go see a doctor.
It may be that he needs to switch to formula, or if he already has , change it to a different one. I would consult a pediatrician.
The only thing you can do is take him to the doctors to have him checked.
a baby can gain weight very odd but there are differrent things you can try like changing the babies formula or put the baby on a feeding schedule first you have to watch an learn the babies eatting habbits. but definitly check with a doctor.
I had the same problem with my little girl. if your doc shows no concern then dont sweat it. Your doc would have pointed something out if there was a problem so just relax.. some kids are just skinny!lol
The baby may have a higher metabolic rate (he digest food faster) you can supplement the baby with baby cereal mixed into formula making sure it is mixed well. The baby will eat well and be happy.
Take it from a Grandmother your baby is not going to match with charts or graphs all its life. The little Darlen is going to excel in some areas and fall behind in others. You alone are the expert on your child and you alone will know when things are not going well for it. Unless you are in total denial you will be the first to notice a problem. When you notice them mention them to your pediatrician but don't panic. Children will give you plenty of reasons to panic in your lives with them and even beyond the time they live at home. However something like this is to be noted discussed with a Dr and watched to see if it continues. Do not panic every time a date for a landmark appears and your child has not reached it just like you would not be annoyed to find your child walked, talked or got a tooth early. You are not raising a national average child just your own precious unique wonderful infant. Who will for the most part hit all their landmarks right on time for their own unique self.
Check with your pediatrician. He may have something going on with him internally that is not visible to the naked eye. I had a neighbor years ago whose baby was dehydrated. When she called the doctor's office, they were over-booked and told her to wait 'til morning before she could see them. She relied on instinct and took her to the ER. If she had waited 'til morning, she would've lost her. That baby now has children of her own. Moral of the story is to always listen to your gut where your children are concerned. Should the situation allow, seek out a second and sometimes even a third opinion. (Also, when it comes to your family's health, finances should be a second concern.)
breastfeed
it's not weight gain that is so much a problem. I'd worry more about weight loss. If bowel movements are the same, wet diapers are consistant, then there is no worry. Try increasing the feeding times and lowering the amounts of milk each feeding. example....if you feed your baby 8 times a day with 4ounces of milk, switch to 10 times a day with 3ounces of milk. from 24 ounces, you switched to 30 ounces. this will increase his metabolism a tad bit.
Take him to his doctor. There might be some underlying medical problem causing it.
Well...first of all, what did your doctor say?
If you are basing this on weights on a supermarket or home scale, it could be that the scale isn't accurate enough for weighing babies.
If he was very sick for a while during the previous month *and* he gained in length, it could be normal (although unusual).
If he was weighed on a different scale *or* if the scale he was weighed on was serviced during that time, and he seems normal in every other way, it could be that he did gain weight, but the scale was the problem.
If he gained a lot of weight the previous month or 2, and he gained a lot in length this month, he could be gaining weight and length alternately; this is normal for *some* babies. Again, check with your pediatrician.
If you started solids during that period, that is probably the problem. Solids have fewer calories than human milk, and a baby younger than 6 months *cannot* digest them. They fill him up and don't let him get the nourishment he needs to grow. Stop solids if you think this is the problem.
Otherwise, I would say you have a problem. *Please* talk to your doctor!! *Some* babies go a month without gaining weight between 9 and 12 months (when they start crawling and walking), but not at 5 months old.
In the meantime, nurse him more often--at least every 2 hours (timed from the beginning of one feeding to the beginning of the next). If he isn't interested when you offer, try again in 20-30 minutes.
All i can think is to take them to the doctors. Some of those feedback is kindof harsh. Im very srry to hear bout your baby. I hope he/she feels better. Good luck
hi ,if youre baby is not eating well then take him/her to the doctor but if they are eating a good balanced meals through the day then i wouldnt panic babies tend to put weight one and then they settle at a certain weight for a while then pack the weight as they grow and change if you are really worried there is no harm in taking them to the doctor good luck and enjoy watching youre baby grow and changs before youre eyes take care X

well if he is eating good. and not always sick it can be normal my son went times with out gainning any weight he's 18lbs at 13 months and is very healthy and he has been this weight for a few months now.
Consult with your pediatrician. If you baby eats well nothing to worry about, but might be something else. My son is 1 year and only weight 18 lbs, but he eats and drinks everything. Some babies are different and tend to be smaller, but as long as they are healthy and getting proper nutrition, you might want to consult your doctor for other possible issues.
