what are the dimensions of a NICU incubator (length by width by height)?

I am a senior Girl scout working on my Gold Award. I am making "Incubator Isolettes" with matching blankets and matress covers. However, I can't find the standard size of an incubator to know about how much material I need. If anyone has a previous pattern or knows the dimensions that would be a big help. Thanks :)

What you should do is call your local birth hospital and get the measurements for the ones that they use. If you tell the receptionist in the nursery or NICU why you want to know I am SURE they or one of the nurses will be able to tell you. I will try and find out what size we use, and then come back here and post again (so check back again), but I would still contact one of the hospitals near you just to make sure that they use the same size.

OK ours are about 25 inches high and deep, and about 33 inches long. but they vary in size from incubator to incubator. Ours are some of the larger ones I've seen. Try calling the nursery at your local hospital though and I'm SURE they can help.

Good Luck!

try getting in touch with your local special care baby unit if you explain what and perhaps offer to give them one I'm sure you will they will help
When my son was in NICU he was in 3 different kinds of incubators/isolettes. I don't tihnk that the NICU used mattress covers. They just tucked in a receiving blanket. He was wrapped in another receiving blanket. A heavier blanket was draped over his bed to muffle sound and block out some of the light.

I don't know the bed dimensions but I know that they come in slightly different sizes. If I were you I would call the NICU where you intend to donate the blankets to ask what sizes they need.
