vegetables fruits for baby?

what kind of vegetables & fruit should i give to my 7 month old baby?

Answers:
Always start with one new food at a time. Give it a few days to make sure there wasn't any reaction to it. I started my son with applesauce, banana, canned peaches and pears, sweet potatoes, yams, peas, steamed broccoli... just about everything. It's recommended to start with veggies, as fruit tastes better and it might be harder to get them to eat veggies after they've had fruit. Try to avoid baby food in jars. I used it mostly for convenience when I was traveling etc. Baby food in jars is often too smooth, and babies start to dislike any texture in their food. It's harder to get them to eat adult food later. A little texture is good, as long as there's no big chunks to choke on. Gob Bless

Other Answers:
carrots mess up the tummy try green peas and bannanas or make a medley
but do it all at home. its safer that way cuz you know what your baby is eating.
good luck.

In the meantime, you can offer him/her lightly steamed vegetables cut into small pieces. Try broccoli, carrots and green beans. Grated fruit, such as apples and pears, is good in the early stages. Mealtimes must always be carefully supervised in case of choking. As he/she gets more confident you can introduce salad vegetables such as cucumber and baby tomatoes (provided there is no history of allergies). You can also give him/her lightly buttered toast. Babies’ gums are remarkably tough and he/she should be able to manage all of the foods mentioned above without any teeth.

Remember to always wash your baby’s hands before and after meals.

If you are making your own food stay away from carrots because they have too many nitrates in them for a baby. Regular baby food carrots, like Gerber or Beech Nut are better for them. Any fruit or veggie that you can get them to eat is good, unless it is something that gives them gas. Try sweet potatoes. They dont color their poop too bad and the babies seem to like them over most other veggies. As far as fruits go, i always liked mixing bananas and cereal together for my son... he loved it!! (sometimes i would even mash up a real one for him.)

any.1 at a time 2 watch 4 allergies.start w veggies 1st.

My kids were not real picky. Potatoes and carrots were always good as was applesauce. Be careful with the carrots or the mixed veggies that have carrots, my daughter loved them so I fed them to her, I got a surprise at the doctor one day when he pointed out to me that she was taking on an orange tint to her skin and eyes because of the carotene.

Anything that you can mush! Also try beans and rice. I loved that as a baby. Whatever you eat and enjoy. The only things to avoid are highly allergenic ones, like citrus, berries, corn, and tomatoes.

My daughter eats just about anything you can get at the grocery store. I don't use jars, I make my own since I'm an at home Mommy. Zucchini, yellow squash, sweet potatos, avocado, peas, green beans, acorn squash, butternut squash, mangos, apples, carrots, pears....no need to be boring about it!
