my baby weighs 10 pounds 10oz now at 3 1/2 months and weighed 7 pounds 4oz at birth should I be worried?
Answers:
As long as the baby is growing and continuing to gain weight and is eating, everything is probably fine. My daughter was 7 lb 14 oz at birth, 10 lb 2 oz at 2 months, and she just had her 4 month appointment and was 12 lb 13 oz. She is pretty small for her age, but the doctor said she is as healthy as can be. Babies all grow at different rates, so as long as it is happy and seems healthy, everything is probably just fine. If you are worried, talk to your doctor about it.

That might be a bit low, but not too bad. Talk with your pediatrician and see what he/she says.
No, don't worry. When babies are born, they typically lose many ounces and it takes them a while to gain it back. Plus then you want him to gain more!
:) Don't freak. If you have any concerns, tell his doctor at his next SCHEDULED visit. No need to make a special appointment.
ho yeah!
no, my baby weighed at 7 pounds 3 ounces at birth, at three months she was at the same level. It's all good! my baby is 1 year old now!
I have a grandson that is six months old and weighs 22 pounds. he is a little butter ball
dont go crazy worring about it.Is the baby eating enough?
Don't obsess about numbers. If he's healthy, don't sweat it.
I guess thats okay as long as he/she is healthy. My daughter weighed 7 lb 2 1/2 oz when she was born and now weighs about 13 lb and she just turned 3 months. Check with the pediatrician if youre worried.
i think it is ok... but when you take him in for his checkup then ask your doctor.. but i do think he should be gaining 2 lbs a month but some babys start out slow.. they have a schedule they go by at the doctors office...it should be about time for you to take him for his ammunization shots and they will tell you then.. do they have wic for women and children where you live..that would help you alot if they do..they give milk, cereal, cheese, and different kinds of things.. it has been so long since my children was on wic...my grandkids are on wic but i do not know what they recieve..wic stands for women , infants, and children...i have my baby stuff packed in a crate but i doubt it would be the same as now anyway.. but i hope i have helped you some..my baby is going to be 25 so there is quite a many years since then and now.....good luck with your little one..i have my grandson.. and i have not forgot the terrible twos..that is for sure.. you can not help smiling at them but you are upset at them at the same time....

my opinion and experience
no babies grow at their own pace. if you need reassurance ask your peds dr. i think my daughter is HUGE for her age. she's the same age 17 lbs and wearing 6-9 months clothes. i guess it depends on your babies height too. because she is tall for her age too.
my baby is also 3.5 months.he weighed 6 lbs 9 oz at birth.last week he weighed 13 lbs.if hes eating i wdnt worry abt it unless ur dr. says something.when was he born?
I took a look at these diagrams which reflect the growth distribution for babies. For a girl, that weight would put her above the 5% percentile (which means that 5% of the baby girls that age weigh less than her. If your baby is a boy, then less than 5% of the babies that age weigh less than him. In either case, my research found what is kind of obvious, you have to be proportional (weigh and length). So if both parents and the baby are very small, of course the baby will weigh a lot less than the general baby population. In any case, you should be taking your baby for monthly visits to a trusted pediatrician who will be better prepared to analyze the raw data.

It is common for babies to lose weight in the hospital after birth and slowly gain it back...It sounds like that is what your child did...Do not worry too much and talk to her doctor.
I wouldnt worry that much unless the doctor says that it is a problem.
I think I would take a trip to the DR. Is the baby healthy??????????
Worried about what? I have 2 month old twins. When they were born one weighed 6lbs 6oz and the other weighed 6lbs 13oz. They now weigh 10 lbs 4oz and 10 lbs 14oz.
Your baby is doing fine. He/she will gain the weight soon enough.
