my baby is sick, 100.9F, tried to call the doctor but they're off. what should i do?

Answers:
Calm down. 100.9F is not a high fever in a baby (or adult). Babies can run a slight temperature for a number of reasons. How old is the baby? Is he/she teething? Does the baby appear to have a slight cold?
Unless the child is vomiting or has constant diarrhea, no need to panic just yet. If the baby does, then take him/her to the ER to be evaluated.

Other Answers:
Try bathing the baby is cool water to bring down temperature

Call the doctor's office and leave a message. Almost always someone is on duty and will call you back. Go to the ER immediatly. Babies can go from bad to worse very quickly. High fevers can cause brain damage.

100.9 is no so bad. I would bring him into the ER just to be sure. If the baby is screaming. shaking, unresponsive, dehydrated, or faint call 911.

Make sure you give the baby bottles of water between feedings. A cold towel on the forehead will help.

How terrible that temperature is depends on the age of the baby. Dont' rush to the hospital just yet your baby is probably okay. But, if you need to talk to someone, (and you probably will feel better once you do) there will be someone at the hospital on the peds. floor. Call hospital information and they will connect you. take him to the emergency place

My daughter was 13 months when my husband and I brought her to the ER for a temp of 103 degrees. We were told she was fine and that it's not uncommon for babies to have unusually high temps for no apparent reason, just give your baby a fever reducer and note any other symptoms. Try calling the Emergency Department of the hospital - they should be able to tell you if you should bring the child in or not.

well call the doctor there is always someone there and also you could give the baby a nice cold bath

Make sure you give your baby plenty of liquids. Try to cool him off any way you can. If the temperature goes up, you may have to take him/her to the hospital take your kid to ER if the fever goes any higher, apply coolcompresses to the head and back of the neck
