hOW DO YOU GET A TEETHING BABY TO GO TO SLEEP IF AMBESOL WON'T WORK?

Question:

Answers:
yikes... my teething baby is rocking with his daddy right now while I escape to cyberspace... teething tablets can be good, if baby will let you give them. Give baby a toothbrush to chew on, the bristles can stimulate and the handle is fun to get those back teeth with, just watch him/her to guard against choking. Also introduces baby to the toothbrush early, my son won't let me take it away from him sometimes!!

There are finger toothbrushes that you can put on your finger and let baby chew on while you massage the gums. Protects your fingers.

Good luck, I'm gonna go try to nurse mine to sleep.

With a lot of love and comfort. Teething babies are experiencing pain that they have never known before. They really need Mom and Dad's comfort and presence during this difficult time.

Lots of love, rocking, and cuddles. You can try a cold teether just before bedtime to numb him/her gums a bit. A little infants aceteminophen may also help. It usually only lasts a few nights (the discomfort). Good Luck!

mom of two The best thing you can do is use the liquid children's tylenol. Usually if you can stop the pain they will pass right out. Also to help with teething pain try buying freezable teething rings latter on. This helped my kids alot! Oh and the Dollar general brand of ambesol works better than the name brand. You might try it

Sometimes a warm bath will help relax the baby and put them to sleep . Have you tried a cool teething ring?Massage the baby gum with your fingers. Are you sure the baby isn't colicky?

Mom of three and nana

tylanol it will drop the fever and help them sleep you don't want to use to much ambesol it is proven that this will cause the gums to become hard and it will be harder for the teeth to cut through

had the same problem and the denist told me stop using the ambesol and try tylanol

Ambesol can be very disconcerting for some babies - it numbs the pain, but then you have the weird numb feeling. Hyland's Teething Tablets have helped my babies handle the pain and get some good rest. They are usually available at health food stores.

Also, I put a wet washcloth into the freezer for a bit, and then I let them gnaw on it. Some mothers use breastmilk instead of water.

Crown Royal JUST KIDDING; talk to your pediatrician - they should be able to give you something to help your baby sleep.. just as we as adults need something after dental surgery.. babies should be given the same treatment. then you drink the Crown Royal and you both will sleep well. best of luck to you.
