Another carseat law for kids?

An assemblywoman in California is putting a new law in front of our governor to sign. That they have to sit in a booster seat until they turn 9. How ridiculous is this. My son is seven and he's so tall people think he's about 10, like I'm really going to make him be a baby and try and fit into a booster seat.
What about people who have more than one child? They want to tax us for getting larger cars, but they want to make it impossible for us not to have one.
What do you think?

Answers:
I have been certified in car seat and booster seat safety and installation. The most important thing to consider about boosters seats are their purpose. They are ment to boost a child up to the right height level so that the seat belts fit a child properly through the hips and chest so that the straps do not ride up into the neck or stomach area. Using a booster is a smart thing to do honestly but they can also be dangerous particularly if your child is exreamly tall for his or her age simply because if it props them up too high then their necks are not supported by the cars neck/head supports properly. For children under the age of 12 the safest place for them is the back seat. My son is 8 and rides in a booster in the back seat, and will until I see that the seat belts in the car fit him properly. There are many seats on the market now that are small, compact and do not look like "baby" seats at all. The best one IMO is the Graco no back turbo booster.
I'll bet 1 million she's a liberal Dem.
