This is for my daughter she is 8, the adenoids are definately coming out and after a sleep test we will find out about the tonsils.
If recuperation took a while I would try and wait for a school break.
I had this in health but was hoping for more answers
Answers:
My daughter's both had their adnoids removed.
Recover for just adnoids is just a couple of days.
My daughter that had adnoids & tonsils it took about 3 weeks.
The issue is really that the scabs are in the back of the throat and they need to be carefull not to eat scratchy foods that can make them come off to early.
She was actually "out of pain" in under a week.
We are very glad that we made the decision for removal.
Hope all goes well for you.
Oh and by the way - if you can go to a Children's Hospital, it is so worth it!
i had my adenoids removed when i was in the 7th grade. it only took me 2 days to recupperate, but to be honest the second day i felt fine i just remember not wanting to go back to school that day. my throat only hurt for about 6 hours after the surgey, but they gave me a perscription for hydrocodone and it was all good.
