Any ideas for what to do with my child's artwork?

How should I display it and/or store it?

Answers:
Have an area of the house that your kid can display their art. When they fill the section let them know that they can choose what goes into storage when they want to put up something new. Then get a container that keeps out moisture and save them. It is worth it, It's amazing to look back at things that I've done and I always wanted to have more of that saved but my mom got rid of a lot of it.

Other Answers:
Either get a scrapbook for it or store it in a long rubbermaid to preserve it.

turn it into a collage You can display there artwork on the fridgerator or put it in a picture frame,,you can store them in a fileing folder..I have them in a fileling cabinet with each folder labled with his age and the grade he's in...

Buy some magnets and stick them on the fridge. When out of room, devote a storage box for the best ones and save them for when he/she is older. Then he/she will go to college, come back, look at it, smile, and there it will stay in your garage until you die. Then he/she will get it all back again and look at it, smile, and put it in his/her garage for the next 40 years. The it will finally become forgotten and make its way to some landfill. Then the landfill will be redeveloped into a subdivision and there it will forever rest under some strangers garage.

save a representative sample and round file the rest. i know it is hard to imagine it.. the pain of tossing it, but how often are you looking back to the stuff you did at 7 years of age.

Laminate them so they will last forever, put the ones you like the best in picture frames and hang them on the wall, put the rest in a plastic tub marked "ART WORK" with your childs name on it. well there are lots of ways to display the artwork and preserve it as well. I like to use scrapbooking to preserve and display the artwork. there are lots of iseas to use for background extra stickers, quotes, etc.

Display it!! Pick one wall in your home and hang it all there, maybe your dinig room? That is what my mother did with my artwork and it made me feel so special!! That was long ago, but feeling never change!!:) Try to laminate it or try this great art work site www.artsonia.com they will turn his work in to cups or key chain even Tee-shirts ! It is a great site !

I have my son put all his artwork and school papers in a bin throughout the school year. Then at the end we go through all the papers and artwork and save a sampling of them, his favorites and my favorites. Then we three hole punch them and put them in a 3 ring binder. We keep one for each year and decorate it with some of the art work. I thought this would be a great way to display them at graduation.

We also use some for wrapping paper and cards for grandparents so they can also enjoy it.

Make a portfolio! Get a couple of big pieces of that thick stuff they use to mat pictures to use as a cover and bind them loosely with metal rings. You can store it whereever you like. Just poke 3 holes in each piece of art and put them in the portfolio.

Also, you might have 2 or 3 frames that you could switch out artwork on occasion placed somewhere in your home where they can be displayed (hallway, their bedroom, bath, etc.)

Have fun with it!

I have four kids ranging from 12 to 5 and here's what we do. Each child has a plastic tote which slides under the bed. They have a folders for every year inside. We display their art on the fridge for one week. Then they take it down and put it in their box. At the end of every year they choose 10 of their best works and only keep those. This way your off the hook as to which pictures to keep and which to throw away. You'll end up having over 150 pictures to pull out when they're older. Also it creates a time once a year to look back and reflect on their lives and see the progress they have made.
Good Luck!!!

Get a scrapbook or a binder full of page protectors. For the stuff you want to display long term try plaque mounting. It preserves better than framing. make a scrap book, then give it to the child when they get older!

get a pizza box and let them decorate it a diffrent theme or color for each year put there artwork in it when your having a down day just pull out the box and remember just how lucky you are to have them or cry more for how much they have grown up :)

You can't keep everything, pick a few that are really good. I like to get frames from the dollar store and hang them, it makes them feel special. Rotate them every once in a while, keep the old ones in a shoe box and let the child decorate it.
