My children are home schooled and they are very advanced for their ages. My 5 year old daughter reads better than most middle school students and my 8 year old can have intelligent conversations with grown ups. Home schooling has been PROVEN to be better for children. It also depends on the mother/father who teaches them. I know a few people that just need to put their kids in school because they aren't learning ANYTHING. My kids are sick today, so not much learning today....and no make-up work to worry about, either!

You cannot generalize all home-schooled children b/c they each have a diff teacher! Some parents are better at making their children well-rounded for life while others end up spelling bee champions.
Home schooled kids are generally MUCH better academically prepared for college than public school kids. That is a fact! No, my little brother is home schooled, and he is just shy of college courses. He is only 13, and has been through every math, science, and english he can take. My mom is going to send him to the community college for some classes, because he is just that far advanced.
they're not retarted. some just have problems in school. Like they cant focus or problems with bully's. Some are also advanced and not challenged enough in public schools.
retarded isnt the right word, some arent well socially because they arent used to society. when they stay at home all the time and dont have any friends from a public school they dont experience peer pressure, drugs, and sex. personally i think this hurts them alot.I am just as smart as my parents now and I like it. I will speak up for my home schooled daughter. She is 5 years old. She can read better (she reads at a 4th grade level) and has better math skills than any kid in her class. She is highly social an also ice skates. I would also have you know that the last 8 national spelling bee champs have all been home schooled.
As far as liking it my daughter enjoys home schooling and gets done with her work and goes and plays instead of waiting for the 25 other kids in her class to catch up to her.

No! Their parents think that is what is besst for their children. The things that go on in school anymore, I'm inclined to agree with them. If my children were still school-aged, I would home teach just because the schools in my city are mostly academic failures and there are a lot of dangerously behaving kids bringing guns and knives to school and there are lots of killings all the time.
No, home school kids are not retarded. Some kids do have problems socializing with other people though. Since they aren't around kids in school they find it hard to relate to other kids there age when they do go out. I think kids should go to school to learn to socialize with other kids there age. It is very important to a persons emotional development.

Most home school kids that I know do like being home schooled. They do just as well as public or private school kids.
My kids go to public schools cause I don't have the patience or income to home school. But I see nothing wrong with home schooling.
Seriously, it is sad how prejudiced people are.... Most parents who home school are very intelligent and aware people... It is a very hard choice to make... Home schooling is not about being in front of the TV and playing video games. In order to do home schooling, you need to be able to manage time really well, and you have to be an involved parent. If a parent who was home schooling really wanted the idiot box to be babysitting, don't you think it would be easier to send the kid to school and keep him or her out from under your feet? You need to think more before you ask questions. You obviously do not have any children.
