how can indian onion help with poison oak? How can it be applied??

Question:

Answers:
Not heard of that. The best really quick cure is to use ordinary "Maalox". A pharmacist pointed me to that some time ago, in a Kroger's, of all places. I was looking for Calamine or Ivy dry or what ever and she just said go to the front counter where the "pepto bismo" etc. was and get Maalox. I said I thought that was just an an-acid for up set stomachs and she said DUUuuu, an-acid!!. It worked. It is also very effective on poison ivy and even on acne. Teens please note!. Works due is an an-acid, use liberally twice a day, for acne. One application is usually sufficient for poison oak.

Can't answer about the indian onion but the best way to get rid of poison oak/ivy is to dab a clean rag in diesel fuel or kerosene and wipe over the affected area. DO NOT wash it off until the next day. You should only have a dot where the blister was. The cause of the rash is the oil in the plant and the diesel or kerosene will dry it up and will not spread!
Never heard of indian onion. The rash is caused by the urushiol oil on the plant. Wash it off with soap and water, and then keep it dry. Please DO NOT put deisel or any other type of petroleum on your skin. They are in themselves irritants and are also flammable. I am sure that they would be able to treat your rash along with your burns in the hospital. You will make your problem worse. Application of calamine lotion will sooth the itching, but the best treatment is topical steroids. You can get the over the counter stuff at any pharmacy, but the stronger prescription strength stuff works great.
