My ears are blocked up aand have been for some time. Is it waxy or some other condition?

My ears slowly began to be marginally blocked, but the sensation in my left ear has increased over a year or so. Occasionally it will unblock as I can feel it do so, but it inhibits my hearing and I hear a noise inside my head like when you put a shell to your ear.

that happened to one of my ears once. I bought wax remover and it didn't help. I went to the doctor and he used his wax remover and it still didn't help. Then he looked my ear, turns out I had bug inside. you could have somthing similiar, i would get it checked out

It probably is blocked with wax. Use Waxol from the pharmacy for dissolving wax. It works like magic and one drop will unblock it in seconds.
HAVE THE SAME THING. I HAVE RESEARCHED IT AND IS IS AIR. IT DRIVES ME NUTS. THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. IT ASLO CAN BE ALLERGIES, TRY A DECONGESTANT. IT ALSO COULD BE FLUED IN THE INNER EAR. THEY CAN PUT A TUBE IN TO DRAIN THAT BUT DON'T LIKE TO UNLESS IT IS A LAST RESORT. GOOD LUCK, I HAVE HAD IT FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.
go to doctor and get them flushed out oh by the way hurts like a *****.
I have you problem and yes it's excess wax (cerumen) in the ear.
Go to see a doctor, he'll prescribe some ear drops that eliminates the excess (cerumen).(OLEY-POLYPEPTIDE)
and then pay another visit to have your ear FLUSHED.
It isn't scary. but you have to take a step forward.

Sometimes ears are blocked by using Q-tips. Never use a Q-tip to clean inside your ear canal because you are pushing the wax that naturally comes from inside the ear back into the ear and each time you do that you are also compacting it inside the ear. This will eventually cause your ear to be plugged up with the wax.

Q-tips were meant to clean the folds on the outer ear area and it will not hurt to use them for that but do NOT put them into the ear...not even a little ways. The inner ear is fully capable of cleaning itself.
