If I am not feeling my best, should I run?

I have a slight stomach ache and I am supposed to run the 800 meters in a track meet. should I?

Answers:
Try some Mylanta or Milk of Magnesia - those old people are on to something! That'll usually kill a stomach ache real quick.

well....no
Yes, if you feel you can do it. You can do it. 800 meters is not too detrimental to your system. If you do seem to feel light-headed, please end the activity. After you run, be sure to rehydrate your body. Be Strong!

Yes, you should. You can tough it out for two laps. If you really feel like you can't though then don't because if you mentally think you can't you will run slow and then it will be pointless. I had a track meet once and I was sick. My trainer gave me anti-nausea pills and I ran the 5000 and the 3000 meter steeple chase. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that but my point is, sometimes you just need to tough it out.
You may have butterflies in your stomach. Pepto bismal might work or Maalox.
It depends. If the ache turns into a run for the bathroom that might be a bit embrassing. Try that Mylanta and see if your feeling more up to it. It might also be nerves?
