Is there anything that can be done to prevent rheumatoid arthritis?
Answers:
Scientists currently believe that the auto-immune disease Rheumatoid Arthritis is caused by genetics, environmental issues, and hormones. Unless stress could be factored in as an environmental hazard that is preventable, I would say the answer is No. Read more at :

No. I have it and there is no cure or prevention. Only medication that may slow the effects.
Indeed there is. If you've had a recent blood test and it was positive for either Reactive arthritis or Rheumatoid arthritis, there's an excellent chance of a complete cure, provided it's caught early and before any joint damage occurs.
Instead of taking the still recommended protocol of chemotherapeutics, which treat the symptoms and not the problem, try persuading your healthcare provider to consider putting you on an extended course of antibiotic therapy. An antibiotic which has addressed this problem well is minocycline, 100 Mg. twice per day for at least four months. The organisms responsible for this arthritis do not respond to this protocol unless it's been extended over many months. Question is, how many healthcare providers are willing to do this before referring you to a Rheumatologist?
The studies have been done and are available.
One problem is that it usually takes a long time before the so called 'establishment' gets around to getting the message that these studies are done and out there.
If an extended course of antibiotic therapy is prescribed, it's a good idea to supplement your G.I. tract with a probiotic ie. the good bacteria that turns milk sugar into 'yogurt.'
These capsules, which contain 'Lactobacillus acidophilus' and analogues, should be taken daily at separate times over the course of your therapy. This will help tremendously in preventing the possible overgrowth of the much feared Clostridium organism, if it should be present in your bowel.
Addendum: In most cases, in the presence of an allergy, the antibiotic can still be taken provided it's covered with a steroid, usually cortisone.
