I've broken my back three times, and suffer from pain in the morning. I have had chiropractor, physio and osteopath but to no avail.

I have been told to stay away from yoga but to try pilates.

What is an "orthopedician," pray tell? Where did you get your MD? Where did you intern?

Yes, I would.
My aunt had scoliosis. Severe, affected internally as she aged. My other aunt suffered as well with it and also osteoporosis.
My mom has osteoporosis, scoliosis since she was 49, now 77.
My 58 yr old sister has osteoporosis and curvature. She walks, rides her bike and is an active vegeterian, no booze, coffee etc.
My younger sister, 48 yrs old, has osteoporosis and two herrington rods in her back, plus arthritis.
I am 53 not overweight. What do you think my future looks like?
I'm studying to be a surgeon myself now...I am with doctors and future doctors all of the time. So, I can talk to doctors all of the time.
