My Mother had severe electric like pains that went right above her lip. It is something called Trigeminal neuralgia. It is very painful. It can occur in the eye area also. It can be treated but it is a very painful. There is the trigeminal nerve that runs up and through they jaw. At the base of the nerve located near the back of your head and neck,there is also blood vessels. In her case when the blood would pulse it rubbed the nerve causing the electric like searing pain. I do not want to scare you but it took her 3 years to finally get a DOCOTOR to listen to her after she herself had to look it up in a medical book and she was correct. She then went to the leading specialist in Pittsburgh who developed the surgery and is great and painfree. Please check it out.
