If you guys are best friends, there should be an open form of communication there and he will respect you more if you just ask him instead of guessing about his sexual orientation.

if it is your best friend, and that friend is gay, eventually he or she will tell you. There's no need to rush that kind of thing. It is a personal confession for that person.

I think the best thing is to wait until he tell you. Keep been friends with him like always. If its really your best friend you are gonna respect that and wait until the time is right. he wont come out until he nows for sure. right now he might just be confused!
