Ok, well I can tell you there is an after life because I was there. I was surrounded by all my dead relatives who welcomed me and were happy to see me. Everything was white and shiny and there was music I never heard before. I even saw Elvis! Ok. I lied. Sorry. Couldn't resist. How the hell should I know if there is an after life? I am alive.
In your case you get to go to Hell. Enjoy the after life. The Bible is the ONLY place you will find the truth aboutthe after life. OR Read the book "To Hell and Back" It is wriitten by an MD. Can't remember his name. You will get the truth there then.
In order to answer this question, you have to go to the bible. as it says the way to eternal life is through the son of god Jesus Christ. Why do you just blatently dismiss the truth, follow in the steps of the lord and you will be saved. That is the only way to eternal life, other wise you are lost forever.
I think death is just like it was before you were born or conceived.
Well, you're going to either get answers from people that THINK they know (like the bible thumpers), or from people that want to take a guess at it. Either way, you're not going to be satisfied with the answer. Perhaps you should have worded it that way; What do you 'think' will happen after you die?
Personally, I'm not sure. Part of me says we'll just die, and that's it.
Another part of me is a little paranoid, because we have this deja vue thing going on, other things happened back during the days of the Neanderthal man, with different races of species living together. Our 'man' lived on, but where did he come from? The chain of evolution is far from plain.
So I'm wondering if an alien species set this all about, only they didn't do a perfect job, just like us, if we set up an ant farm.
The problem is that you want an answer with no religious background so how can a person even answer this. There have been near death experiences but that does not constitute death since they don't completely die. So your heart stops beating and your body is no longer oxygenated so it starts to decompose. That's the end.

I think we will all answer what we want it to be. I tend to think that no one really knows since NO ONE has ever come back to tell us either way, so beleive what makes you feel secure bible or not. That is what all religion is about anyways, a security blanket.

I believe that if you are one of the fortunate to go to heaven, then you will have everlasting life after you die, in the form of a spirit, and will return to earth after the apocalypse to a paradise of unmeasurable beauty and happiness. But, if you are one that is going to "hell" then you just have absolutely no existence whatsoever. I think that would be worse than pain and torture, just not ever knowing that you existed, and all the people that live on for eternity forget about you, something kinda of what gothmog said, nobody, including yourself, knows of your existence.

well first of all you sleep untill judgement day then all of us will be judged according to all the bad and good things we have done .and just say we get to go to heaven..it supposed to be beautiful we get to be with god no crying , no hunger, no sickness, and no death ,,no worrie s, and agruvation. no wars, no need for shelter or clothing,,no diseases, all the family we have that has died we get to be with them,,no jealousy,, no killing ,stealing,all the bad things we go through on earth we wont go through in heaven.. forever happieness...but in hell. you got crying,weeping,, nashing of teeth,, torment.. suffering, and forever torture
