for women why do African women get there cl it cut or removed?

Answers:
So they won't enjoy sex, and are (supposedly) less likely to be unfaithful.

It's barbaric, and thank you for not using the misnomer "female circumcision"

Other Answers:
It is a barbaric traitional practice in some cultures to promote faithfulness in the women.

If they don't enjoy sex, then they won't look for it elsewhere.

I shudder to think of it.
Not by Choise usually. It is meant to prevent a woman from getting sexual pleasure in an attempt to keep them from having sex b4 marriage and cheating after marriage. It is a cruel and barbaric custom.
because thier parents do it to them when they are kids. And it's mostly eastern and middle eastern girls who are mutilated no just africans.

To do it to keep them from engoying sex so they won't be a ho. they do this when they are 5-12 years old or whenever the family feels it is time.. mostly thye just use a razor and give the child nothing for the pain.. it is very evil and perhaps you should research it.
They DON'T....it is done TO them! Removes all sexual pleasure from them, is barbaric, vile, disgusting, and unfortunately, goes on in many cultures. Pitiful men are soooooo afraid they cannot keep a woman, they mutilate her before she reaches puberty! Horrid concept!
It's a horrible, mutilating rite of passage. It is believed it will keep a woman "tame," and keep her from enjoying sex. That way she will stay faithful.
Female circumcision, or female castration as it is more accurately described, is an old tradition perpetuated by men. Women don't choose to have it done. It's done to them against their will. Men believe that removing the clitoris keeps women from enjoying sex, which in turn prevents them from cheating on their husbands. It's a barbaric practice.
Because the men feel by removing the possibility of the woman having pleasure during sex it will remove the possibility of her wanting to have sex before marriage and from cheating on her husband when she does get married. Plus it is tradition. Only certain groups practice this, not all Africans.
unfortunately its still practice today. stem from an insecure male dominant culture.
It is part of their culture. When young males of Africa become a certain age they go through something that is called the rights of passage, in other words a transition from child to man. Women of Africa do the same thing with curcumsition of the clitoris, its suppose to be a transition into woman hood However its really done to keep women from cheating on their mates, a form of chastity. Its an old custom and not all people of Africa practice this custom. Thank god. However it is still practiced by some tribes. There is alot of contraversy on this subject. It is cruel and inhumane. They do not use pain killer. The older women of the tribe simply hold the young girl down and cut. Its barbaric. I feel terribly sorry for these young girls. Could you imagine. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

P.S. Sorry for the mispelled words.
Is is a barbaric practice like many done to women in certain cultures. It is a man's selfish way of keeping a woman from having sexual pleasure. It is just another way the men use women for their own pleasure.
It is done to the woman --- so she will not have pleasure and therefore will not stray from her man --- not all African cultures are like that ---It is said that the black fashion model Iman was sent away by a caring relative so she wouldn't have to endure this ritual.
I believe that in different cultures/areas they think of this as a tradition for marriage and or sex. Sometimes they get it from breaking rules or beliefs. Hope i helped
Female genital mutilation. You should hear Kathy Griffin on the subject! If anyone could make it even remotely amusing, it's her.
Well a lot of posts say its men who do it, but oddly enough its WOMEN who perform this act on girls and its usually with the help of the females in her own family. Whats sick is, its done by women who had it done on THEMSELVES!
