If I have athletes foot, how likely is my 6 year old to catch it from using the same shower or tub?

I have had it for a long time, years. Have tried every thing except for the medicine that so expensive my insurance wont pay for it.

Answers:
If the tub is not effectively cleaned your child is at great risk to catch it. I worked at a summer camp & we were instructed to rinse the showers with bleach water. None of our uninfected campers caught it. I've heard you can soak your feet in bleach water to get rid of it...it's extremely drying to skin, so it may not be advisable. The "desenex" spray is supposed to be pretty good. Below is a link with some home remedy advice.

Suggestion that you won't like...soak your feet in Chlorox straight out of the bottle....no more than a minute. Repeat daily for about 1 week...bet that kills the suckers. Doubtful that you will be giving it to someone from the shower...but what about the bath mats, carpets, etc....Try the soak..it can work wonders..Make sure to rinse well before you take ONE step...you do not want to track this stuff around.
I would say very likely as most times that's where people get it from.
Best to clean the tub before your child uses it.
