Do you think the public is losing trust in the medical profession?

Question:

Answers:
All those who have unanimously voted yes to this issue consider this... 1. Fourth largest economy in the world but pitiable health facilities and equally pathetic goverment medical colleges 2. Corruption and reservation ridden system to an extent that it chokes the career prospects of merit students to attain post-graduation 3. In a city like Bangalore a.k.a. the IT hub of the world, post MBBS doctors might get Rs 4000 a month (if lucky enough) 4. Spend 5 1/2 years in MBBS and earn Rs 4000 pm in South India or do BE in Comp. Science and earn straight Rs 30000 pm and above (or Rs 20000 pm if unlucky) 5. Be a business man, grocer, shop keeper, mall owner, petrol bunk owner etc and evade tax but not get called corrupt. Forget about charity altogether or helping the poor! But curse the doctor not giving free treatment! 6. Be an IITian, get a degree at government cost but go scot-free to US, Germany, Japan, or wherever u fancy without loyalty being questioned? Now my questions are: Why should the onus of social service be on us alone? Why should this free service policy apply to us but not IT people, teachers (who make money in tutions), lawyers, businessmen etc etc? Why should we be blamed for leaving country and not IITians or engineers? Why should we work in rural areas while engineers do not (spread the flame of IT), which school will my kid go to in rural areas? Why should I get pitiable pay and IT or management people get more with less number of years in study? Excuse me folks, I am a doctor to but I have no malicious thoughts of fleecing people. But tell me... will my daily requirements be met by you lot, will my food come from the nearby temple or will my vehicle run on water? The local grocer down the street, owning a house, wants free treatment from me as he knows me for a long time! But mate, I too have known you for a long time so why dont u give my monthly or atleast one days supply free of cost?? Thou shall not throw stones on others if you live in glass house yourself! To end a small statement by Paresh Rawal in Satya..... Kasai bhi bakra tab kaatta hai jab log use khate hai, bechare kasai ko kyon dosh dete ho (A butcher kills an animal when people want to eat it, why blame the butcher) And if anyone questions my commitment or moral ethics of medical profession, heres to them: I will come back right now provided you get me a salary more than that of a software engineer, a guarantee of not being initimidated by people (the way they show in movies but happens in real life) and a government hospital with good clinical practice facilites! Where are the wise guys now??
