Do pilates really work?


The hundred, Roll ups, Flutter kicks, Arm lifts, and leg lifts.

Yes... you can feel muscles ach that you never knew existed. It really does wonders when combined with a regular cardio program.
Yes, it definitely does work. And it works wonders. But unless you are going to do pilates training at least 3 times a week, you're better off with another form of exercise. And unless you are being supervised by a certified instructor, as opposed to self-teaching with books or videos, you probably won't see results.

When I was doing pilates 3 or 4 times a week, I saw great results.

When I backed down to 2x a week, i really didn't see results at all and it became a waste of money (for the training sessions).

This was all doing private and groups sessions with a pilates certified instructor. I would'nt even venture to do pilates on my own, even after several years of professional instruction.
