Do you construe movies approaching Juno and Knocked Up instil teens to bring pregnant?

I personally don't like blaming media/movies/etc. for people's stupid behavior, but that's what some society theorize in trying to find reasons why the teen girls contained by Gloucester deliberately got pregnant. What do you mull over?

Answers:    I know what you mean, these types of movies sort of do influence people, and downplay the severity and consequences of something as chief as pregnancy when you're not prepared or actually trying to have a child. However I think all of the material mature kids will see it for what it really is,
for example JUNO is just a
only a very realistic large school situation "love" story. Lots of people realize that these things do begin but they can be avoided. I mean these things really do happen surrounded by real life, you don't hold to see Juno to see teenage pregnancy. I think that our society IN GENERAL is become more loose and nought is defined as sacred any more. Not even creating human life.
So, surrounded by conclusion, these types of movies only emphasize our society's route of thinking, they don't create them.
Media IS partially to blame for putting everything out there.
I one-sidedly don't think that it's right to blame the media. Those movies show the glum consequences of teenage pregnancy. Although I really don't think Knocked Up is really young pregnancy I think that it shows the negative effects of an unplanned pregnancy. I do see how folks can blame the media, but then again it's approaching movies also have smoking pot and teenage drinking contained by it too, but all they talk something like is teenage pregnancy. Not really, especially in the overnight case of Juno. She made a mistake, but when she found out she was pregnant, she had the sense and self-awareness satisfactory to realize that she wasn't ready to become a mother. She chose to give her infant up for adoption, and I can't imagine any teenager getting pregnant intentionally a short time ago so they could give birth to it and give it up for adoption.

In Knocked Up, the protagonist be a grown woman, not a teenager.
I think that babyish kids really shouldn't be watching movies like 'knocked up', I didn't even see it. As for Juno, I don't really think kids should see that one any, but at least she wasn't TRYING to get pregnant and she give it up for adoption. The girls from this high school be going out of their way to have kids so they could get the impression loved and raise their kids together in a "family"
I give attention to the article sums it up, the girls (at least most of them) are from broken families, they are looking for love, they are mortal completely accepted for having children this childlike. Well Juno for instance can actually help pregnant teens, within my opinion, it can guide them and help them kind the right decision when they fall into that problem public notice make them feel similar to they're not alone and at least have something to relate to, I don't have an idea that a teen will try to get pregnant because "Juno" did it

The movie also stresses the fact that it is not smooth being pregnant at a young age, and it's not uncomplicated giving the baby up for adoption, and that it isn't "all that" to be pregnant

Juno is a legendary movie, not based on a true story, sooo it would be ridiculous to blame the movie for teens getting pregnant, lol usually someone over the age of ten knows that these movies aren't physical

I found the movie to have a positive message and that it was more proactive than influential
Why blame Juno and Knocked Up and such movies resembling those? They aren't giving the message, "Hey teens! Go have sex!". The movie is made for money, obviously, and to also show consequences. Every one is their own individual and every one has their own mind. It's not Ellen Page that is surrounded by a teenagers mind going, "Have sex! Have sex!". I believe blaming the media and movies do have to do near some things once in a while, but when it comes to sex and pregnancy, I don't think so. Teenagers own their own mind and conscience. No, movies such as Juno and Knocked Up shouldn't be the blame as to why teens get pregenant. We all gross our own individual choices in life, and if the teen girls contained by Gloucester really wanted to get pregenant, they would've done it anyways, and you can't soley blame medium and music as for why those girls made the decision that they made. It's not like somebody forced the girls to see and make them get pregenant bad of a movie influence. Well, I hope this is usefull :)
Not at all!! First off within my opinion in Juno she be not trying to get pregnant she did the responsible thing by not getting an abortion and giving the child up for adoption. She deal with her pregnancy and did not give up the babe just because she was young at heart and prego, she found the best parents for her unborn child and did the best she could. Secondly in Knocked Up the woman was not a child-- She be an adult.. Again she was not trying to catch prego but she dealt with it as an fully developed and had the child and raised it near the Father!!

Hope this answers your question.. Good Luck!!
I am older than a teen but I remember watching Knocked up and be grossed out by the birthing scene. The funny thing was I be pregnant and didn't know it.
Even if the movie did influence them they are not very bright to begin near then. To me Juno didn't glamorize the pregnancy at all and Knocked up showed how it be difficult being pregnant and having a relationship, near were a lot of girls discussion about how it would suck if they got pregnant after the first time beside a new guy The movies may show one side of getting pregnant but it is the parents job to provide a more natural view.

In my opinion, movies similar to Juno encourage teen pregnancy as much as shows like "babe-in-arms borrowers" discourage it. The bottom line is that some teens are very acquiescent and it should be the parents job to teach them the truth of getting pregnant at such a young age.
Not at all. Knocked Up isnt even in the region of a teen getting pregnant, they are both older doing what older associates do. Juno is about what teens seem to be doing more and more lately.. but I regard its a good movie showing the affects of pregnancy, and options you own. I think it shows teens how to handle the situation, and teach them more about pregnancy. Also I think they show a perfect scene and good ideas roughly speaking the abortion she thinks about have. As far at all the girls getting pregnant at once-I've started to wonder if one of them just found out she be pregnant and was afraid, so the rest of her friends did it so they could raise their kids together, but that's purely my speculation. Who knows in this world anymore.

However, teen pregnancy be rising before those movies, so they really don't have a substantial correlation as of presently. Maybe seeing how hard it is to deal beside pregnancy might slow it down some. One can only hope
I don't think that the movies should instil it. I mean think of it close to this. Is watching the secret of the traveling pants going to bring in you want to go out and buy some pants? (don't answer that) I aim yes some people will do some stupid things following a movie like buying some pant you are only going to wear once or forming your own group of YA-YAs but intentionally getting pregnant is seriously crossing the line between right mind and insanity. Knocked up and Juno to me are the perfect examples of how every choice we make can effect our futures. knock up? shes not a teenager in that move she is contained by here 20s and has a job..i dont blame these because of their ratings. if the parents thought it be a bad idea, they see the movies ratings and shoudlnt agree to the kids watch them. its all nearly the parents and how they decide to raise the kids.
instinctively i like juno because she shows that when you mess up its not good to of late hide it and cover your tracks (getting the abortion) instead she faces her mistake and give birth to the baby and gives it to a mother who couoldnt own one. i like both movies and dont blame them at all, i blame parents
People utter we are not influenced by TV, video games, music, or movies. If that's true, then ad execs enjoy wasted billions of dollars trying to get you to buy their products and services. Of course we are influenced, that's why a movie budget have alotted for ad space and promotion, where else would you attain the idea to see the movie if there be no previews or promos?

So the answer is yes. these movies had a definite influence. No movie, problem wouldn't hold surfaced.
movies play a small role in these decisions, Juno be a wonderful movie about wether in pregnancy or matrimonial the guy can leave you. i admire juno for giving up her tot and the adoptive mom for being there for her. i dont consider the motive of the movie was to condone teen pregnancy. those girls in Gloucester be just plain stupid. Well I didn't watch those movies...but according to the word & my mom (lol) it did encourage teen pregnancy.

I think the parents & the media/movies/actors/etc. are to blame. There are movies that clear teens think that it's okay to do! Think about it! Teens haven't fully matured, and these movies brainwash them!
Parents are the blame for not edification their teens right from wrong.

That's actually a good examine. Actually I love both :D :D :D but who really knows. I probably would have said no a week ago, but did you hear a couple days ago almost that huge group of 15 year old girls in that adjectives got pregnant purposefully together??
Who knows. . . i dont. i conjecture they are just funny comedys making fun of real vivacity. like juno for example, i think it be in a sense hinting to young girls getting pregnant at the moment that they are not prepared to be a mother and adoption would be best for them and their child. it will be hard but you have to construe of the child. and that is exactly what juno did, she put her family and herself and her adjectives in the back of her mind and go through with the adoption because she knows its right.

hope this help!

no.. im a teenage girl. i havnt had sex but i saw those movies aages ago..and they be hilarious. i didnt really think going on for it like that at all though..they are only movies. they make you laugh afterwards you forget about it.
this is a little bit lame but sometimes when those do stupid things they look for a reason/ someone to place the blame on so that its diverted away from them. teenage girls are horrible manipulative beings by nature [when they want to be] and movies close to juno etcc are just things to place the blame on. hope that makes sense or even kinda answers your request for information haha xo No. I as a teen have seen boh of these movies and as strong as it may be to believe they have actually made me aware of how stressful teen pregnancy is. They enjoy both shown me that I want to wait until marriage to return with pregnant, until i am setled and in a good place within my life.
=]]
i see what you're saying. However, I ponder that the movies are trying to show how life is like person pregnant and a teenager or being pregnant near a guy who you dont even know...and they're trying to make a lesson but it's funny how the endings are other happy endings. Who know. Well, knocked up has nil to do with teens, they are both grown adults, but as for Juno, no. I think it's stupid that teens can use stuff approaching these movies for excuses. Sex=Babies. And, any teen having sex knows that. It's their mistake, dont blame movies or anything else.
i dont think it encourages it, per se, but it specifically portrays the wrong idea about teen pregnancy. it make it seem like much smaller quantity of a big deal than it actually is. I dont assume i the media's fault
People just Blame it on them so that they HAVE someone to blame it on i guess

Answer mine PLEASE?

How does Juno cheer it? She gives her baby away.

Knocked Up is just about two ADULTS getting drunk, having a one-night stand, and getting pregnant.
I think any parent who have done their job instilling values in their children will not hold to worry about movies influencing their bahavior intuitively i dont think so the way it is beside most teens is that they make there own desicions, nil really starts or stops them.
you just like to blame something because you feeel impossible blaming your own stupid kid (no offense)
NO. because with or without these class of movie's kids are going to do what they want! so you can't blame the them! It only encourages teens who are retarded and dont know they're too infantile to be havin sex
no its just that teens now have a sneaking suspicion that sex is everything! and some of them think their in love but their not these kids dont see whats gona come to pass!
