11 year behind the times going to prom?

All my 11 year old son's classmates are 16. They are having a prom and my son is invited along near his classmates. However, as he is just 11, do you think this is suitable? What should he wear? Should he lift a female friend? In the UK we rarely enjoy 'proms' and I'm not even sure what they are.

Answers:    A "prom" is more like a dance. You where on earth a suit and have a date "female friend" There are in general snacks and punch. I personally think that 11 is too youthful to be goin, but if this is his only chance and he really requests to than go for it. If you don't want him to go than see if hoedown lessons don't make him pay for out!
a prom is like an end of the year leap for high school seniors junior r sometimes allowed to go depends on which school.
he should jump thou its a good chance for him he should wear wat adjectives the other boys r wearing which is prob. a tux and he should bring along a female friend so he isn't left out. If he wishes to go, he's welcome to it, and he have a lady friend.. then why not? It is a nice unsystematic for him to help develop social skills.

If he's that advanced in institution, its not like he will likely go and get this oppourtunity when he is 16-17 years old either.
its a year 11 bubble, and you must be lying, how would a kid thats meant to be in year 7 be surrounded by year 11, if he was that clever he'd be in a genious kids arts school. wow.11 is kinda young for prom. prom is basically a do for the older classmen...so its basically 16-18 year olds
Sure he should budge but I also recommend he ring a date his age.perhaps a girl with alike disease. I'm sure you belong to a local support group right? yeah he should go.
yeah take his girlfriend.
wear a detached tux.
Prom is one of the biggest events in high arts school and depending on how much money that school has, the prom can be at an extravagant location and rival the Academy Awards, and next there are some proms that are in the school's gym beside punch and some cake and mix-tape playing made by the vice principal. It's basically a dance, next to a dinner, and some activities like a activity room. People tend to go in groups and bear pictures at someone's house as a group, and then at the prom location a photography company will take couples' pictures for a price. There's also usually drinking and hooking up, any somewhere at the location or in at a hotel, or at an after party. In other words, it's not really a location where on earth an 11 year old would fit in, and I don't know if his friend would touch all that comfortable at prom with someone who should rightfully be contained by the 6th grade.

Girls spend thousands on a dress. They really don't hold back next to daddy's credit card at all, dress, shoes, jewelry, etc., girls spend a lot of money for one dark.

Guys typically rent a tux, there's no point in buying a tux for a night. They're usually responsible for renting a limo, explanation people typically go surrounded by groups. A lot of money is spent on prom, both by the students and the school.

I don't think an 11 year would soak up himself. He would really feel out of place and family would wonder who brought their little brother to prom.
So rent him a tux call Robin and tell him he and she can travel for a couple hours. It may be all he can absorb anyway.
A prom is a semi formal or formal salsa for teens. V. dressy, a social occasion. Older kids do the going out for a meal beforehand, sometimes older kids will rent a limo and have entertainment. planned for after the dance. But in our crust, just going and staying for an hour or so is probably enough. You might want to rob him and his friend out for a meal either earlier or after. He does NOT have to dance. They can freshly enjoy the music. Make sure he has a cell phone within case he needs to produce an exit.
